hours - Fit the elevator counterweight in preparation for installing fin
bulkheads. The counterweight as built still strikes the ferrite
bead in the com antenna. Reworking the counterweight was a simple
matter as I had leftover lead sheet. Continued on with trial
rudder fit up, and installed the rear bulkheads once things fit
well. This was a finicky job, as there is a lot going on back
there, and I did not want to remove too much material from the
fin. The lay-ups under the rudder hinge as prescribed in the
manual turned out to be 4 layers too thick, so I sacrificed another
router bit and cut it down to size. 19Mar03-27Mar03, 19 hours - More rudder fit up. Laid in the aft
bulkhead, then riveted the hinge in place. Also installed a
conduit along the dorsal from the baggage bulkhead to the top of the
fin, and pulled power and firewire for the tail camera.
