Board of Aviation Commissioners History

Dana Herr is a Commissioner on the Columbus, Indiana Board of Aviation and was appointed in 2001 by Mayor Fred Armstrong.

Personal History

Herr is a life-long resident of Columbus, Indiana, graduating from Columbus Senior High School.  Herr also served six years in the Army National Guard.

Professional History

Herr was employed from 1963-1974 as a toolmaker until he was hired as a Manufacturing Engineer at Cummins Engine Company.  In 1985, he resigned from Cummins to start his own company, Creative Tool and Machining.  

Honors, Achievements, and Memberships

Herr is a member of the Columbus Board of Aviation Commissioners, the Elk’s Lodge, American Legion, and the Moose Lodge.
