Columbus Municipal Airport receives $1.3 million in federal ARRA funds
The Columbus Municipal Airport has received 1.3 million in federal funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
Part of ARRA’s mandate calls for a $150 billion investment in new infrastructure for the nation’s roads, bridges, and mass transit systems.
Columbus Municipal Airport received $1.3 million in funding for a new electrical vault. This is needed to ensure the safety of aircraft in the event of a power failure affecting airport lighting and communication systems. The project is expected to begin in July.

Additional information about ARRA funding for specific airport and aviation-related projects, including those in Indiana, may periodically be available on the Federal Aviation Administration’s Web site at www.faa.gov.
